View House is a 4,000 sq. ft. single-family residence in Rincón, Puerto Rico, overlooking the ocean. The project explores tropical modern residential architecture through framed views, shaded exterior spaces, and a close relationship between interior living, landscape, and climate. Conceived as an L-shaped slab house, the residence emphasizes horizontality through its low profile, extended rooflines, and continuous wraparound balcony. This horizontal expression anchors the house to the landscape while framing and compressing the ocean horizon. The open-plan ground floor supports a tropical lifestyle, connecting indoor and outdoor public spaces while celebrating the act of living in close dialogue with the surrounding landscape.
